Ed Williams

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. - Proverbs 3:5-6
Ed Williams was born and raised in Tacoma Washington. He spent his first 18 years growing up in the Hilltop area. He was raised in the Catholic Church where he heard about Jesus and how He had died for the sins of man. Ed attended St Leo's grade school and graduated from Bellarmine Prep. High School. He attended Tacoma Community College and the University of Puget Sound. He began a career at Safeway in 1971. In 1976, Ed married Agnes, and they had 3 children; Joseph, Jennifer and Kimberly.
At the age of 27 a friend invited Ed to a Sunday night Bible study, at Calvary Chapel of Tacoma. After sitting in the Bible studies for 6 months, God began to speak to him. After reading John chapter 3, he realized he was not born again and asked Christ to forgive him and be Lord of his life. He discovered it was not religion, but having a relationship with God that is important.
Ed has served at Calvary Chapel of Tacoma and Federal Way Calvary Chapel. He also attended and served at South Hill Calvary Chapel. He served with Youth for Christ for 12 years. In 2003, after a three year battle with cancer, God called Agnes to come home. In 2006, he met Dorothy, and they were married in 2008. They have 2 adopted girls, Sarah and Hannah. After 38 years of working for Safeway, he retired in 2010. He also has five wonderful grandchildren.
Two years ago God called Ed to be part of a church plant, Tacoma Calvary, in Tacoma, which began in the basement of Central Lutheran Church. Now the church has moved into its new home in the Hilltop area where Ed is currently serving as an Pastor.
