About Tacoma Calvary

Tacoma Calvary is a group of people committed to the truths about Jesus Christ.
Veritas Christian Fellowship was founded on October 22, 2011 as a church plant of South Hill Calvary Chapel and renamed to Tacoma Calvary on November 1st, 2014.
We believe that people all around us are seeking to know and understand truth like never before. During the trial of Jesus before Pontius Pilate, the governor of Judea, Pilate was torn between the absolute truth of who Jesus was and the relative truth of who the religious leaders of the Jews wanted him to be. After insisting that Jesus was innocent of all charges, Pilate eventually caved into the political pressure from the religious rulers who were threatened by Jesus’ following and had Jesus flogged and crucified.
When Pilate asked Jesus if he was a king, Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” Pilate, no doubt completely frustrated at this point, because he could not reconcile absolute truth with relative truth, simple responded with, “What is truth?”, and declared to the crowd, “I find no fault in Him at all.”
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (to God) except through me.” He also said, “...if the Son (referring to Himself, the Truth) makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” Jesus is the Truth, therefore Jesus sets you free, and when Jesus sets you free...you are free indeed.
You can rest assured, that you will never, and I mean never hear anything less then the truth at Tacoma Calvary. In a world where truth has become relative to whatever makes sense to the individual, our desire is to know the Truth, to teach the Truth in order that others might be set free by the Truth and then live by the Truth.
